Teaching and non-teaching personnel undergo drug test
KIT teaching personnel and non-teaching personnel are subjected to random drug testing on August 23, 2017 at the school function hall.
More or less 68 teaching and non-n teaching personnel of the Kabasalan Institute of Technology were subjected, to random drug testing on August 23, 2017 at the school function hall.
The mandatory drug testing is in response to the intensified anti-drug campaign of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The aim of the drug test is to ensure that the employees are not using the substance and the workplace is really drug- free.
The drug test was done thru urine drug testing (UDT) the common and widely used for testing opioids and illicit drugs like marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, amphetamines and tetrahydrocannabinol. Joining in the drug test were the TESDA Provincial Director Lorenzo Emmanuel Guillermo and his staff.
The activity was supported by TESDA Director General, Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong which was to eradicate the use of illegal drugs in all operating units of TESDA through TESDA Memorandum N0. 147, S. of 2916.It was also in support to RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002;

Greta D.Sabroso ,Ed,D VSAIII said that the drug test is not conclusive , If an employee is tested positive in the drug test , there would be confirmatory test to find out if he/she is indeed a user of illegal drugs.
The drug test was facilitated by the A J Diagnostic Laboratory Ipil , Zamboanga Sibugay , with Ms. Aima A. Jainuddin a specimen analyst and medical Technologist and assisted by the school nurse Ms. Marie Raneth E. Estanero
