On August 24, 2026, the TESDA Zamboanga Peninsula kicked off the 32nd TESDA Anniversary Celebration with a parade of colorful banners. Each cluster proudly carried its distinct colors: the “White Buffalos” of Zamboanga del Sur, the “Green Hornets” of Zamboanga del Norte, the “The Builders” of Zamboanga Sibugay, the “Red Phoenixes” of Zamboanga City, Isabela City, and Sulu, and the “Pink Flamingos” of the Regional Office.
The crowd grew more ecstatic as the banners were raised and the TESDA flag soared high. The excitement reached its peak during the introduction of the various clusters, as the spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition filled the venue. The event embodied the goals of friendship, wellness, teamwork, health, and unity during the TESDA Region IX Friendship Games and Wellness Festival, held in celebration of the 32nd TESDA Anniversary.
As Regional Director of TESDA Region IX, Engr. Alan T. Bacatan, CESE, aptly expressed, “We become stronger when we support each other, encourage each other, and, of course, when we care for each other.”
Indeed, the Friendship Games and Wellness Festival is not merely about demonstrating the strength of individual clusters. More importantly, it is about fostering unity and strengthening the bond of the TESDA family. With equal “husay,” “tibay,” and “tagumpay,” everyone is inspired to strive for excellence and achieve greater competence in service.
With this spirit of unity and camaraderie, and with the ceremonial lighting of the urn, the 2026 TESDA Region IX Friendship Games and Wellness Festival was officially declared open.
