‎ZSPI Marks 77th Year:  Showcasing Dynamic Skills

The rhythmic echo of drums and lyres resonates through the streets at Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay. Accompanying them was the roaring of engines in every motorcycle and vehicle in response to the drumbeats. It was not just a motorcade but a celebration of the most-awaited monumental event at ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE (ZSPI)- 77th Founding Anniversary.

‎The official program commenced with energetic yells from all diploma programs, followed by a tribute to ZSPI retirees, masterfully organized by Mr. Bryle F. Barrios. An inspiring opening message was delivered by Dr. Gladys A. Tiongco, Ed.D., sharing how the name of ZSPI was made, reflecting on the institute’s decades of service and its commitment to shaping the student's future.

‎The centerpiece of the celebration was the Skills Demonstration, it is a living testament to ZSPI’s hands-on education learning. The Soft Trades made the senses thrilled with Bread and Pastry Production, Ice Cream Making, Arroz Caldo and Fruit Flambé, while Housekeeping NC II displayed standards on how to make up bed.  Simultaneously, the Hard Trades students demonstrated expertise in Automotive Servicing, Electrical Installation, Machining, and Carpentry, proving their mastery of essential technical skills.

‎A captivating intermission number by Mr. Edwin Baylon Jr. and Mr. Rhian Dave Jumawan, and also a surprise number from selected students, including standout singing performances by Gel Moarip and Jesus Binco Jr., followed by the Handuraw Artist Guild and the Choral Society. Additionally, there was a high-energy competition as Mr. Edwin Baylon Jr.  judged a Flairing Competition for DHMT 3rd year, where ten participants showcased their talents. The event crowned Aivie Dacuba as the champion, with Leah Jean Dela Cerna securing the second place.

‎As the afternoon sun rose high, the foundation shifted towards excitement and fun. The campus grounds resonated with laughter and cheers during the Larong Pinoy and various ball games. The 77th Founding Anniversary successfully wove together a tribute to the past, a demonstration of present skill, and a celebration of the enduring community that defines ZSPI.
