ElM NCII  students   sponsor  fire drill

FOI Samuel Ferror   talks on   the importance of fire awareness in order   to save lives and properties during the symposium.
Anchored on the theme, “Ligtas na Pilipinas ang Ating Hangad, Pag-iingat sa Sunog ay sa Sarili Ipatupad”. the Electrical Installation and  Maintenance NCII (EIM) students  under  Eng. Amy Mabatid , Mr.Rando Sangcom, and Mr.Philip Trayvilla  staged  a  program  on  Raising Awareness on Fire Prevention  conducted on March 19, 2018   at the mid- cam in coordination with   the  Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).  
The purpose of the program is to raise the level of awareness of the public of the ways to prevent fires, save lives and properties.
The activity is Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No.115-A, March as Fire Prevention month.  FO I Samuel Ferrer talked on the importance of giving   information especially on emergency response and preparedness in order to save lives and minimized damage. Ferrer also lectured on the main causes of fire and causes of fire hazards.
Likewise, FO I Mancera took the lead in showcasing the fire proximity suit, a suit designed to protect the fire fighter from high temperatures, especially near fires.  Of extreme temperature such as aircraft fires .Originally it is made of asbestos fabric.
Likewise, gender equality was also observed during the event.  Two female trainees, Ivy Jean Salle Dressmaking NCII and Mel Ann Caῆete volunteered to wear the suit and to operate the fire hose that carries water to extinguish fire during the drill.

Mancera demonstrated the proper use of the fire extinguisher to the audience. The  GAD Focal Mrs. Edna G. Chiong   was also   requested by the BFP to have the try on  the proper  use  of the fire extinguisher ,  a device that controls small fires , often used  in emergency  situations.
On the other hand, the fire fighters reminded the audience on some measures to prevent fire, according to FO1  Mr.Ferrer it is best to have a pail of water inside the house, unplug appliances when not in use or rest them, focus when cooking, inspect all electrical wiring yearly, be knowledgeable on how to properly use an LPG or liquefied petroleum gas, follow all safety guidelines of the authorities in terms of fire prevention.
The Head of Instructions for basic and common competencies, Gladys A. Tiongco awarded the Certificate of Appreciation to the BFP protection officers for being   supportive in responding the invitation and as active partners in disseminating information on  fire prevention. The program was supported by the school administration headed by VSA III Greta D. Sabroso ,Ed.D.  with the coordination of the faculty and staff.
