Assessment and Certification
What is Assessment and Certification mean? Assessment and Certification is a program that aims to assess and certify competencies of middle -level skilled workers through the Philippine TVET Competency and Assessment Certification Systems (PTCACS). This is designed to ensure that the skilled worker possess the necessary competencies to perform the job in accordance with industry requirements. The assessment areas and methodology are defined in the rating regulations. The National Certificate (NC) is issued by TESDA when the candidate had demonstrated competence during an assessment session covering the identified units of competency for a particular qualification. In the case of failure to demonstrate competence in all units or cluster of units in an NC, a Certificate of Competency (COC) is issued for specific units where the graduate has demonstrated competence
Re-assessment are allowed for areas not satisfactorily achieve within two years. With two consecutive failures, a candidate is advised to go through a refresher course before taking another assessment. TESDA accredited assessment centers and competency assessors. Assessments can only be done in the accredited assessment centers or designated assessment venues. In addition, assessment can only be done in the presence of a TESDA representative at all times.

The school is implementing two types of assessment to the TVET trainees every semester, the institutional assessment and the competency assessment for national certification. Institutional Assessment is conducted as final examination of the students for their Core competencies. The test questions for the institutional assessment are taken from the module used by the students during the training period.  The institutional assessment serves as the yardstick of what the trainees have learned from heir module during the training and of what the instructors have taught their students. The TVET Trainees who will pass the National Certification will have the greater employment opportunity. Middle -skilled workers whether in local industries or overseas should have TESDA license which is granted only to them after passing the National Certification Assessment.
